SAUGERTIES…. Richard J. Miller, 87, of Bennett Ave., died Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born November 5, 1933 in Malden-on-Hudson he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Miller. A graduate of Saugerties High School Class of 1953, he began a long career with IBM in Kingston. Upon his retirement from IBM he worked part time for the Village of Saugerties Police Dept. as a crossing guard at St. Mary’s School and did interior painting and wallpapering. He was a Quarter Century Club Member at IBM, enjoyed camping and his family was always his number one priority.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a son, Michael J. (Kathryn) Miller of Hurley; a daughter, Mary Ellen Coon of Saugerties; a sister, Mary Triolo; five grandchildren: Lisa Sammons, Maureen deHaan, Christopher Sammons, Ryan Johnson and Glen Coon; two great grandchildren: Andrew Sammons and Emery Johnson; his God daughter, Maureen Hallion and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Lowell “Manny” Miller.
His Funeral Procession will form 9:30 AM Monday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties thence to St. Mary of the Snow where at 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will follow in Blue Mountain Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday 2:00 – 5:00 PM. Face coverings and social distancing rules to be in effect.
