SAUGERTIES.... Robert (Bob) J. Adam, 94, of Redwood Rd. died Sunday January 2, 2022 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck, NY. Born September 20, 1927 in Hopewell, NJ he was the son of the late Archibald Adam and Irene McDonald Adam. A veteran of the US Marine Corps he served during World War II. In 1951 he married Helen Elizabeth (Betty) Carr in Kearny, NJ and in 1955 they relocated to the Mid-Hudson Valley where they raised five children. Bob was employed at IBM in Kingston for over 35 years. An avid golfer he belonged to the Sawyerkill Country Club and later at the Rip Van Winkle Golf Club. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. Bob was a lifelong Yankee fan and in his younger days played semi pro baseball and soccer in New Jersey. He loved the outdoors and when not golfing he could be found with a fishing pole in his hand at a local stream.
Survivors include four daughters: Diane Adam of Bloomington, MN., Jayne (James) Velie of Lake Katrine, Joyce (Randy) Reno of Anaheim CA., and Karen Zahn of Saugerties. A son, John (Jodi) Adam of Kingston. Five grandchildren: Troy Velie, Vanessa and Andrew Reno, Jesse (Haley) and Jenna Adam. One great grandson: Avery Reno. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by a grandson, Kyle Zahn and his siblings: Archibald, James, Irene and Richard Adam.
His Funeral Service was held privately. Interment with military honors were held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Saugerties. Arrangements were under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc.
