Rose Koplovitz

WOODSTOCK - Rose Koplovitz, 90, of Oriole Drive died Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.  Born October 29, 1933 in Tuxedo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Carmela Rittendale who immigrated from Calabria, Italy.   

A graduate of City University of New York, she was an area resident for many years.   Active in the community, she served on the Boards of the Senate House in Kingston, the Woodstock Film Festival, and the Woodstock Tennis Club.  She was the former president and a Director of the Zena Rec Park and served as a Chairperson of the Woodstock Library Fair.  She is featured on the “Wall of Fame” at the Total Tennis Club in Saugerties, where she coached the USTA Senior Women’s Team to the Regional Championships. 

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Joshua “Josh” Koplovitz, a son, Jonathan of Manhattan and a daughter, Elysa Koplovitz Dutton of Los Angeles, CA.   Four beloved grandchildren: Logan and Liam Koplovitz. Mae Morton Dutton and Ruby Rose Dutton, a brother, Anthony Rittendale of Las Vegas as well as several close nieces and nephews.   She was predeceased by her siblings Ernest Rittendale and Mary Murphy. 

The family would like to thank her caregivers for their devoted care for the last few months: Ana Moreira, Deborah Fury and Fukiko Ostensen as well as Hospice of Ulster and Dutchess County and nurses at Ulster Dialysis.

The funeral procession will depart from 16 Oriole Drive at 9:30 AM on Friday.  Interment will be held at the Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston at 10 am.  Her Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 AM Friday at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation, 1682 Glasco Turnpike, Saugerties, NY.  A gathering of friends will be held Thursday at 6-9 PM at the Koplovitz’s residence.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of Joh & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.   Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family on Rose’s Tribute Wall at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
