Sally Van Sickle Obituary

SAUGERTIES...Sally A. Van Sickle, 83, of E. Church Rd., passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Tuesday June 15, 2021. She was born in Kingston to the late Oda and Marietta Simpson Rich. For many years she was a supervisor for Woodstock Percussions until a once in a lifetime job opportunity for her husband required that they move to North Carolina.

The tragic loss of a daughter brought Sally (and her spouse) back to this area to be nearer to her remaining children.  Sally had been retired since returning to New York and enjoyed the peace and serenity that comes from watching and feeding all the wildlife that chose to visit her pond and the sanctuary surrounding it.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Kenneth; children, Kenneth Van Sickle (Leta), Marleise Pastore (James), Denice Monfett and Cherie Hargrove; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Karol, Mary Katherine Stewart and Patricia Barros; pet, Daisy (her white duck). She was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia Whittaker and brothers James and Gerry Rich.
