Sheila Beechel Obituary

Sheila L. Beechel, 75, formerly of Linderman Ave. in Kingston died Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Pines in Catskill, NY.  Born September 16, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Irene M. Sickler.  Sheila was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1967 and for many years was employed at ShopRite in Kingston, prior to moving to Ocala, Florida in the early 90’s. Sheila then continued her work in the supermarket industry at Sweetbay Supermarkets, in addition to working periodically as a tax advisor for H&R Block throughout the years, until her retirement. Additionally, Sheila received several accolades for her published, creative writing skills from the International Poetry Society over the years. 

Predeceased by her husband, William in 2008, survivors include a son, Kyle and his wife, Daryl Ann Beechel of Saugerties.  Three sisters: Sandi (Peter) Jacobson of Saugerties, Irene (Gary) Hoffstatter of Cairo and  Sharon Mergendahl of Stone Ridge.   Four brothers: Charles (Lee) Sickler of West Hurley, Michael (Lori) Sickler of Port Ewen, Terrence (Brenda) Sickler of Saugerties and Darren Sickler of Palenville.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Carrano, Joseph (Pudgy), Gerald (Jerry) and Gary Sickler. 

Her Funeral Service will be held privately.  A “Celebration of Life” gathering will be held at a later date.   Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.  Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family on Sheila's Tribure Wall at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
