Thomas J. (Jr.) Bover

CAIRO...Thomas J. Bover, Jr., 60, of Foster Rd., died Wednesday July 20, 2022. He was born on February 3, 1962 in Patterson, NJ to Darlene Tolomeo Bover and the late Thomas Bover, Sr.  For almost 40 years Tom owned and operated Esotec LTD, an independent beverage distributor in the Village of Saugerties. Tom truly loved life and lived with it grand gusto. He enjoyed all things esoteric. His many and varied interests included scouting (he was an Eagle Scout), to ginseng (he was a past president of the Catskill Mountain Wild Ginseng Association), and the beautiful Hudson Valley. His love of music, especially rock ‘n roll and the Grateful Dead was legendary. He could talk your ear off about cigars, guitars, cars, fungi, and garlic (3-time Saugerties Garlic Festival winner). A true student of life and a man of great faith, Tom truly loved his home and garden, and his love Marya. Above all, he was most proud of his sons and their accomplishments. If you ever met Tom, you knew he was always ready to have a good time, anytime, anywhere, most often providing the food and libation.

Besides his mother, survivors include two sons, Jason (Stephanie) Bover and Matt Bover both of Saugerties; his partner of life and love, Marya with whom he spent 18 years and survives at their home; brother, Glen (Amy) Bover of Wayne NJ; grandchildren, Zander and Lillianna; bonus children, Teo and Tess Connors, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends. His great heart will be missed by all.
