Walter G. Frey, Jr.

On February 24th, 2024, Walter G. Frey, Jr., of Nokomis, FL, formally of Saugerties, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 61.

Walter was born on July 21st, 1962 in Yonkers, NY to the late Walter G., Sr. and Joan L. Frey. The family moved permanently to Saugerties in 1969.

After graduating college, Walter was employed in the cement industry for many years as a heavy equipment operator in both New York and Maryland. Thereafter, he was an Employment Recruiter for several major companies. Walter was passionate about history and politics. He was a strong supporter of the Republican party and previously served as a Legislative in the Ulster County Legislature. He was a former Town of Saugerties Republican Committee Member. A self-taught Chef, he was renowned for his culinary skills. He and his family travelled extensively.

Walter is survived by his sister, Lori Ann Frey, of Saugerties, NY and his partner, Peter J. Tarulli, Jr., of Nokomis, FL. His Uncle John (Marina) Schmid of Germantown, NY, Uncle Robert T. (Belue) VanTassell, Jr., of Falling Waters, WV, Aunt Marie (Frey) Peluso of Yonkers, NY, and many dear cousins, friends, and colleagues.

His Funeral Procession will form Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, 45 John St., Saugerties, NY then continue to St. Mary of the Snow Roman Catholic Church for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment shall take place immediately thereafter at the Blue Mt. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Walter’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
