Wayne Wright Obituary

ROUND TOP - Wayne Wright passed away on 7/26/2025.  Born October 22, 1949 in Poughkeepsie, he had been employed as a V.P. at US Alliance for 20 years in Rye, NY. He moved on to become a Comptroller- HR Consultant for 12 years at JA Alternatives in Hartsdale, NY.  Wayne lived many years in Stormville, then spent his last years in Round Top, NY in the Great Northern Catskills. Wayne was a very good man. He enjoyed the company of friends and family. They were extremely important to him. He was the kind of person to step up and help people on the spot. No pretence about him. After retirement he became comfortable in jeans and a tee shirt his new uniform. Like that he could be ready on the spot anywhere, anytime to help others. Rake someone's leaves, clean gutters, any help needed. He was a truly caring genuine person. He was a great friend to all asking nothing in return. He spent his retirement years as a Caretaker for his longtime Companion Michael and his wife Nancy, throughout her terminal illness. Wayne enjoyed helping people and caring for them, he excelled at this. He was a strong man with a lot of energy who enjoyed outdoor yard work. Driving his tractor, loading sticks, trees, hauling yard waste out to the bear caves for dumping. It gave him a well needed work out, time to unwind, think about things. You could see the look of satisfaction on his face after a job well done. A hard worker he was. He didn't cut corners on any job he did. Wayne had to do it "The Wright Way". His wonderfully open cheerful personality left an impact on many friends and neighbours he met and coworkers he cherished. But there is one in particular that must be mentioned, Christine (Tina) Carlisle with who he shared a most incredibly unique joyous friendship, albeit short until The Lord took her to Heaven. Wayne loved going to Cape Cod on vacation, being on the beach, sunning, swimming, walking in the dunes listening to music and enjoying fires on the beach at night. Camping in the pine tree campgrounds there. rejuvenated his soul. Music was his passion. Following all the Music Awards, Broadway Shows, Academy Awards. He could not get enough of visual arts and music. Or just sitting around laughing being with his good friends, lit up his heart. But what he loved most of all was enjoying his home life in Round Top, his final Destination. He always said  this was his greatest Happiness in Life!   He is survived by a longtime Companion Michael Du Vernoy with whom he shared a home and Wayne's two Nephews Jereme Du Vernoy and Brent Du Vernoy, Sister Joan (Tex) Glover and Nephew Michael Glover (Chris), Cousin Eileen Waldstein (Rick).

His Funeral Service will be held 11:30 AM Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc.
