SAUGERTIES - William G. Mulligan, 85, of Eddy St., died Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital. Born June 1, 1938 in Staten Island, Bill was the son of the late William and Catherine Mulligan. Bill was a veteran of the US Army. He was employed for over 25 years as a systems analyst at IBM in Kingston. Active in the community, he was a member of the Saugerties Elks Lodge, the IBM Quarter Century Club, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist RC Church. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants and Notre Dame football teams and the NY Yankees baseball team.
He is preceded in death by his son, Arash Dashtgoli. Survivors include his wife, Mary, with whom he recently celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary; son, William (Shonna) Mulligan of NC; three daughters: Lisa (Richard) Kappler of Saugerties, Caren Duke of Saugerties, and Christine (Christopher) Parisio of Kerhonkson; two brothers: Gerard (Eileen) Mulligan of NJ and John (Pat) Mulligan of FL; 13 grandchildren: Richard (Tiffany), Ryan (Lesley), Rebecca (Aaron), Amanda (Tyler), Shon (Tessa), Ross (Melissa), David (Alicyn), Melissa, Danielle (Logan), Reid, Tara (Evan), Daniel, and Isabella; 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral procession will form on Friday at 9:15 am at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Corner of John & Lafayette Sts, Saugerties, thence to St. Mary of the Snow where at 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Burial will follow in the Blue Mt. Cemetery, Saugerties.
