WEST CAMP - William F. Taylor, 79, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, at the Northeast Center in Lake Katrine, NY. He was born on July 7, 1945, in Huntington, NY to the late Robert and Oressa Johnson Taylor.
His legacy continues through his beloved wife, Patricia Taylor, whom he married in the Fall of 1966. Together, they raised three wonderful sons: Robert of Port Ewen, William (Meghan) of Slingerlands, and Daniel (Dana) Taylor of Latham. William was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Moulthrop.
Bill, was a man who dedicated over 35 years of his life to ensuring the safety of countless commuters as a railroad signal maintainer. His career spanned several companies, including Penn Central, Conrail, and CSX Railroads, where his expertise and commitment were well recognized. He retired in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication to the rail industry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bill was a man of many interests. His passion for woodworking was evident in the beautiful pieces he created, each a labor of love and a gift of his talent. Model railroads were another of his joys, the miniature worlds he constructed with his model railroads were a source of joy, not only to him but to all who had the pleasure of seeing them.
His Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., cor. of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial will follow in the Katsbaan Cemetery.
