Lorraine Loerzel

SALISBURY, MD…. Lorraine F. Loerzel, 87, of Blue Mt. Manor died Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Genesis Nursing Home in Salisbury, MD.   Born December 21, 1930 in New York City to the late Arthur and Laura Cerkoff.   A Saugerties area resident for 66 years she was employed as a cashier at the Grand Union food market.  In her earlier years she was employed as a teacher’s aide and also had worked for the phone company in NYC.  She enjoyed attending plays at the Mac-Haydn Theatre in Ghent, NY., ceramics and helping the elderly.   Active in the Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Lorraine also volunteered at the Hudson Reformatory for girls.  She was active in the Athens Senior Citizens Club and loved her Boston Terriers.

            Survivors include her husband Joseph, her nieces: Suzanne Case, Lorraine Helf, Charlene Wassman and a nephew, Raymond Brackett.  Her Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.   Friends will be received Thursday 7:00 PM- 9:00 PM
