Margaret Gordon Obituary

Margaret Mary “Peggy” Gordon, 81, of Bristol Court passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at the Golden Hill Nursing Center, Kingston. Born Sept. 11, 1937 in Saugerties; she was the daughter of the late John and Helen McCarthy Naccarato. A lifetime area resident she was a graduate of Saugerties High School Class of 1956 where she enjoyed singing in musicals and being involved in many clubs and activities. She worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after graduation until 1963. Peggy was a former member of the Saugerties Bowler’s Club Friday Nite K of C League.

Peggy loved nothing more than spending time with her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She was a loyal friend to many. She was known for the delicious food she prepared and hosting many a holiday gathering over the years as well as her artistic ability and creativity. She created many fun memories on annual trips to Saratoga with friends and family. She also worked at The Homestead store on Main St., Saugerties, for several years and enjoyed seeing people from town when they came into the shop. Her greatest legacy is the love and care she provided to her family.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Gordon; a daughter, Kathy (Brian) Chappell of Glenwood, Md.; a sister, Diane Caruso of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two brothers, Robert Naccarato of Kingston and Jack Naccarato of Saugerties. Two grandchildren, Ethan and Elise Chappell, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Gordon, in 2006.

Her Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor.ner of John and Lafayette Sts. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saugerties. Friends will be received Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family on Peggy’s Tribute Wall at Seamon WilseyFuneralHome.com In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
