SAUGERTIES…. Nancy Warns, 93, of Houtman Road died Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. Born November 5, 1925 in Brooklyn she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Hilda Houtman. Nancy spent her childhood summers in Saugerties at her Grandparents and became a fulltime resident of the area in 1957. She was a member of the Saugerties League of Women Voters and the Centerville Fire Company Ladies Auxillary. An avid golfer, she enjoyed playing rounds of golf with family and friends. Dedicated to her family she loved being a Great Grandma and was affectionately called “G” by her Great Grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, John L. “Jack” Warns in 1993, survivors include 2 Daughters: Patricia Bassett of Port Ewen and Diane McCaig of Saugerties. A Son, Jack Warns of Saugerties, a Brother, Herbert Houtman of Saugerties and a Sister, Eva Taylor of Florida. 6 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Her Funeral Service will be held privately with interment in the Spring in the Blue Mt. Cemetery. Family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Centerville Fire Company. Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts. Saugerties.
