Anthony Missasi

SAUGERTIES…. Anthony J. Missasi, 63, of Blue Mountain Church Rd. died Friday, January 6, 2023 at his residence.   Born November 23, 1959 in Staten Island he was the son of the late Michael and Patt Tesoro Missasi.    A graduate of Saugerties High School, class of 1978 . Anthony was a talented carpenter who owned and operated his own business, A.M. Builders.  

He was a selfless man, always lending a helping hand and support to those who needed it. Anthony loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his son, Philip, golfing with his son-in-law, Billy.  He was a member of the Tuesday Night Golf League at the Rip Van Winkle Country Club, but could most likely be seen at the course any day of the week trying to improve his game. Sundays for him were for going to church to worship his Lord God, Jesus, routinely watching football or golfing, and having family dinner night with his wife, children, and his four grandchildren who lit up his life. 

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, the former Diane Birdsall, a daughter, Rebecca and her husband William D. O’Reilly, a son, Philip and his wife Kaitlyn Missasi  both of Saugerties; brother, Michael (Sheila) Missasi of California; four sisters: Michale Missasi of Saugerties, Jeri (John) Dernison of Lake Katrine, Leslie (Ed) Duffy of Saugerties, his twin Annette (Brian) Murphy of Saugerties; four grandchildren: Claire and Samuel O’Reilly, Hadley and Nora Missasi; sister-in-law Eileen Stier of Poughkeepsie and several nieces.  He is also predeceased by his son Anthony David; sister-in-law, Jane Birdsall and mother-in-law, Vera Birdsall.

His Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.   Friends will be received on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  Family suggests donations in his memory be made to afsp.org.  Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family on Anthony’s Tribute Wall at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
