Barbara A. (Tabler) Smith

SAUGERTIES…. Barbara A. Tabler-Smith, 76, of Main St., died Sunday, September 18, 2022 at her residence.  Born July 8, 1946 in Manhattan; she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Theresa Tabler.   Active in the community she was a life member and Past President of the Saugerties Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  When her children were young, Barbara was involved with the Girl Scouts as a leader.  Barbara was a lover of life and animals. She had a wonderful bond with her therapy animals, Schatze and Bowie. She loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed her trips to New Mexico.

Predeceased by her husband, Tom in 2007, survivors include three daughters: Kimberly (Lou) of Kingston, Hope of Saugerties, and C. Noel (Bill) Tabler of Santa Fe, NM.  Five grandchildren: Kendra, Dylan, Jason, Carter, and Kathryn; a sister, Kathleen Brennan; a brother, Ed Tabler; many nieces, nephews, and adopted family members.   She was predeceased by two daughters: Crystal and Angel Smith, and her siblings: Dorothy, Eileen, Edwin, Joseph, Rosemary, Joan, and Pat.

Her funeral service will be held 8:15 PM Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties.  Friends will be received Saturday 2-4 and 7-8PM.  The Smith family would like to extend their thanks to HV Hospice, especially Jill, Char, Courtney, and Katie for their loving care over the years.   Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family on Barbara’s Tribute Wall at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
