Bertha H. Rumble

LAKE KATRINE…. Bertha H. Rumble, 100, of Penstock Lane died Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Kingston Hospital.  Born July 7, 1922 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Canada, she was the daughter of the late William and Grace Argue. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Saskatchewan at Saskatoon and her degree in nursing from Regina General Hospital in Regina. 

She married her childhood sweetheart Dale, and moved with him to Saugerties in 1963.  Family was very important to her and among her many other pursuits, she was known to love cultivating her vegetable garden.  She was involved in a Bible study in her home that grew to become the Fountain of Life Church where she was the oldest living member. 

Predeceased by her husband Dale in 2010 and her eldest son Alvin in 2021, survivors include four sons: Donald of Saugerties, David of Cairo, Richard and his wife Sharon of Lake Katrine, Kenneth of Hungary, daughter in law Catherine Rumble, and two granddaughters Gloria Rumble and Catherine "Katy" Rumble.

Her Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at the Fountain of Life Church, 71 Old Kings Highway, Lake Katrine. Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. at the corner of John & Lafayette Streets, Saugerties. The funds will be distributed to a charity Bertha would have supported.
