Carol J. Van De Water

KINGSTON….. Carol J. Van De Water, 65, of Vestal Hills Drive died Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Westchester Medical Center.  Born November 20th, 1956 in Ellenville she is the daughter of Edith Krystel and the late Bernard Krystel.  A lifetime area resident she was a graduate of Saugerties High School Class of 1974 and received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY New Paltz.  She was employed for over 25 years as a teaching assistant at the Mt. Marion Elementary School.

     Carol was active as a Girl Scout Leader and with Relay for Life.  Family was important to her and she loved her children and grandchildren.  Besides her mother of Barefoot Bay, FL survivors include her husband, David, with whom she recently celebrated their 39th Wedding anniversary.  A son, Travis and his wife, Christie Van De Water of Poughkeepsie and a daughter, Courtney and her husband, Shane Bryant of Albany.  Five grandchildren: Kara, William, Ainsley and Eliza Van De Water and Cadence Bryant.  A brother, Steven Krystel and a sister, Kathy (John) Hopkins and several nieces and nephews.

       Carol was the glue for the family. She was the executive secretary for all of us. She would plan and coordinate any event. Had a question? She would find the answer. Her family led better lives because of her efforts and selflessness. It is a debt that cannot be repaid. Her husband, family and children miss her already, but most of all, it is the grandchildren who will miss their “Grammy”.

     Her Funeral Procession will form 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties thence to St. Colman’s RC Church where at 11:00 her Funeral Service will be conducted.  Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM.  Family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Relay For Life.  Expressions of condolence may be shared with Carol’s Family on her Tribute Wall at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com
