Kevin P. Sweeney

SAUGERTIES….. Kevin P. Sweeney, 55, of High Falls Rd died Saturday, July 14, 2018 after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.  Kevin was born on August 21, 1962 in Kingston.  He was the son of Barbara Brooks Sweeney and the late Edward P. Sweeney, Jr.  Kevin was a loving husband and the greatest dad.  

A lifetime area resident Kevin Graduated from Saugerties High School in the Class of 1980.   He was employed locally as a machinist, he enjoyed working using his mind and his hands to create.  He loved riding his motorcycle, kayaking,  hiking, organic gardening, photography, woodworking and reading anything he could get his hands on.  His family nickname was "The Contractor" he enjoyed helping family and friends with all of their renovations and tackling any remodeling job that would present a challenge.  Anna said her dad could FIX anything.


Besides his Mother, Barbara of Saugerties, survivors include his wife, Holly, daughter,  Anna L. Sweeney, sons, Kyle and Keith Sweeney Smith, brothers, Timothy of Saugerties and Sean of Amsterdam, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. 


His Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts.   Friends will be received on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots or The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com.
