SAUGERTIES…. Marion A. Madsen, 82, of Rose Lane died Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Baptist Home, Rhinebeck, NY. Born April 12, 1938 in Brooklyn she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ada (Bettinson) Hatton. A graduate of Ulster County Community College with a degree in Nursing she was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Kingston Hospital and later for over 20 years as the Nursing Supervisor at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck.
Marion was an active member of First Baptist Church of Rhinebeck and enjoyed a long and wonderful relationship with her eternal Lord and Savior. She cherished her family and loved to celebrate all occasions. Summers at camp at Sacandaga are memories we will hold close forever, with evening campfires, patriotic songs and Smores.
She loved to travel and visited Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and across the US.
Active in the community, she was a volunteer at the Saugerties Well and managed in the SAA Women’s Softball League. Survivors include her husband, Ed, with whom she recently celebrated 62 happy years of marriage, three sons: Lloyd and his wife Amy of Accord, Eric of Albany and Paul and his wife Melissa of Gainesville, GA. Six grandchildren: Amanda, Ashley, Andrew, Kayla and Sawyer, and Maureen (Erik) Rentz. Her sister, Annie “Nan” Hatton of Kingston, one great grandson, Bryce.
Her Funeral Service will be held 7:00 PM Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts. Saugerties. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-7 PM. Face coverings and social distancing rules to be observed.
