Peter M. Legg

GLASCO....Peter M. Legg, 69, of Costello Ct., died Monday April 24, 2023 at his residence. He was born on January 9, 1954 in Saugerties to the late Ernest and Eva Zmiyarch Legg.  He was employed for over 25 years as a heavy equipment operator with the Saugerties Highway Dept.  As a volunteer with the Saugerties Fire Dept., he was a life member and past captain of the CA Lynch Hose Co. and a member of the Saugerties Exempts Fireman's Association. Peter was also a member of the Saugerties Elks Lodge #2574 and the American Legion Post #72. Some of his favorite activities were fishing and camping with friends and family. 

Survivors include his wife of 22 years the former Elizabeth Carr; daughter, Ashley Zanos and fiancee Daniel Soto of Newburgh, NY; son,  Sean (Jessica) Legg of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Paul (Debbie) Legg of West Camp, grandchildren Mallory and Channing,  and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will be held 10 am Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, corner of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial will follow in the Blue Mt. Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday.  Memorial contributions may be made in Peter's memory to the Town of Saugerties Animal Shelter.
