KINGSTON...Raymond R. Bates, 83, of Deer Run Rd., passed away Friday April 22, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Highland Falls, NY on May 8, 1938 to the late Leonard and Susan Sedgwick Bates. After working hard putting himself through school, he graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor’s Degree and began his career as a pharmacist. He eventually wound up at Langer’s Pharmacy, in West Hurley, where he met his future wife, Marjorie Vincent. He had a great love for animals and took care of a feral cat colony in addition to his own treasured cat, Luke. Ray saw value in the overall health and wellbeing of the human race and often made contributions to support these endeavors.
Survivors include two step daughters, Jordana (Justin Philipson) Vincent of Staatsburg, Lianne Vincent of Saugerties, and 4 of 5 brothers. He was predeceased by his cherished wife in November of 2021. He will be greatly missed a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.
