Rose F. Gambino

SAUGERTIES…. Rose F. Gambino, 94, of Brinnier Lane died Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Golden Hill Health Related Facility surrounded by her children.  Born November 10, 1928 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vitina Grillo Patti. For many years Rose worked as a seamstress for Miranda’s Dress Factory in Saugerties and The Coat Barn in Kingston. She often helped out loved ones by making simple alterations to pants, shirts, dresses and coats. She loved watching daytime reality tv while spending time with her canine companion Zoey and enjoyed occasional trips to casinos with family. Above all, family was most important to Rose.

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Achillo “Augie” Gambino, two brothers, Salvatore Patti and Vincent Patti and a grandson, Joseph A. Gambino. Survivors include two daughters: Diana (James) Composto and Judy Tucker: both of Saugerties and a son, Joseph (Rose) Gambino of Saugerties. Seven grandchildren: Raymond (Stefanie) Tucker, Ashley Tucker(Matt), Nicole (Bobby) Strickland, Joseph M. (Alicia) Gambino, Brandon (Shelbi) Gambino, Robert Wadworth, and Justin (Tiffany) Wadsworth. 12 great grandchildren: Natalie Tucker, Jacob and Ashton Habernig, Coleman and Emma Strickland, Joseph Gambino, Jr., Serena and Korah Gambino, Noah, Gabriella, Jeremiah and Carmella Wadsworth.

Her funeral service and burial will be held privately.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. corner of John & Lafayette Streets., Saugerties.  Family suggests donations in her memory be made to Diaz Ambulance and would like to thank the nursing staff at Golden Hill for their kind and compassionate care of Rose.
