MT MARION.....Victor J. Haslam, 78, of Kings Highway, died Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Sharon Hospital, Sharon, CT. He was born in Kingston on March 13, 1943 to the late Victor V. and Sylvia Plass Haslam. A US Air Force Veteran, who was honorably discharged in 1965. Upon returning home he worked for IBM as a systems analyst, retiring after 25 years.
Victor married the love of his life, Sheila, in 1968. Soon after, they moved into their first home in Mt. Marion where they raised their family and have resided ever since.
He loved vacationing with his family annually in Cape Cod, playing in several golf and bowling leagues, and was an avid New York Mets and New York Giants fan. After retirement, he loved to travel with his wife, and enjoyed tending to their home. Most of all, he just loved spending his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren who all loved him beyond measure. Victor was known to be the most kind, gentle, and loyal husband, father, papa, and friend anyone could ask for.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sheila; son, Scott V. Haslam; daughter Vonda (Dion) Placencia ; grandchildren, Cameron and Lexi all of Saugerties and sisters, Rochelle DeBrosky of Saugerties and Bonnie Brayman of Shokan.
His Funeral Service will be held 11 am Saturday at the Plattekill Reformed Church, Mt. Marion. Inurnment will follow at the Mt. Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday 7-9 pm at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., Saugerties. Memorial contributions may be made to the Plattekill Reformed Church, PO Box 33, Mt. Marion, NY 12453.
